Subaru Cuts Solterra and Trailseeker EV Prices by Up to $4,000

Subaru Australia has revised pricing for its model-year 2026 (MY26) Solterra and Trailseeker, effective Thursday 14 May 2026. The cuts apply to every variant across both ranges and lower entry prices by $2,000 to $4,000.

The pricing reset arrives on the same day Subaru confirmed Uncharted pricing from $59,990 MLP. Today is the most significant day for Subaru's local EV strategy since the brand first sold an electric car in Australia.

Revised pricing

Both Solterra variants drop $2,000. The Solterra AWD now starts at $61,990 and the AWD Touring at $67,990. The Trailseeker takes a larger cut, with $4,000 off both variants. Trailseeker AWD now starts at $63,990 and Trailseeker AWD Touring at $69,990.

Prices are Subaru (Aust) Pty Ltd's Manufacturer's List Prices. They include GST but exclude dealer delivery charges and government and statutory charges.

Subaru Australia said the change supports its goal of keeping its vehicles competitively priced without compromising on quality, performance or innovation. Customers who have recently placed orders or are mid-purchase have been asked to contact their Subaru retailer for guidance on how the update may apply to their purchase.

Subara Solterra Overview

The Solterra is Subaru's full-size electric SUV. It uses a 74.7 kWh CATL battery and a dual-motor 252 kW powertrain with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. WLTP range is up to 566 km in the AWD and 517 km in the AWD Touring. AC charging runs up to 22 kW on three-phase power and DC fast charging tops out at 150 kW, which Subaru says is enough to take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes.

Ground clearance is 212 mm and towing capacity is 1500 kg. Standard equipment includes a 14-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless phone chargers and the latest Subaru Safety Sense suite. The AWD Touring adds Harman Kardon premium audio and Advanced Park Assist.

Solterra Sales Performance

Since the launch of the updated model earlier this year, Solterra sales have been increasing. It is the 11th best selling electric medium SUV so far in 2026 selling 324 year to date.

Subaru Trailseeker Overview

The Trailseeker is the most powerful production Subaru ever sold in Australia. It produces 280 kW from its dual-motor setup and reaches 100 km/h in around 4.4 seconds. WLTP range is up to 533 km in AWD form and 488 km in AWD Touring. The Trailseeker shares the same 74.7 kWh battery, 150 kW DC fast-charging rate and 22 kW AC charging hardware as the Solterra and Uncharted.

The Trailseeker is positioned as a large all-terrain wagon. It carries Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system, X-Mode off-road modes and a more practical body style with longer load space than the Solterra. Subaru began Australian customer deliveries in the second quarter of 2026.

Uncharted launches today at $59,990

Subaru Australia confirmed Uncharted pricing on the same day as the Solterra and Trailseeker reductions, making the Uncharted the new entry point to the brand's three-model EV range. The Uncharted AWD is priced at $59,990 MLP, which is $4,000 below the freshly reduced Solterra AWD. Two paid options are available: a panoramic roof at $1,200 extra, or a panoramic roof with two-tone paint at $2,400 extra.

The Uncharted uses the same 74.7 kWh CATL battery as the Solterra and Trailseeker, the same 252 kW dual-motor output as the Solterra, and the same 150 kW DC and 22 kW AC charging hardware as both. Subaru quotes a preliminary WLTP range of up to 522 km, pending final homologation for Australian-specification vehicles. The certified figure may differ on production cars.

Standard equipment includes Dual-mode X-Mode with Grip Control, Downhill Assist Control, a Panoramic 360-degree View Monitor, a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless phone chargers, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and Subaru Safety Sense. Ground clearance is 211 mm at kerb weight. Pre-orders are open now through authorised Subaru retailers and at subaru.com.au, with deliveries due mid-2026.

With Uncharted pricing locked in and Solterra and Trailseeker prices lowered, Subaru's electric SUV range now spans $59,990 to $73,990 MLP. All three share the same 74.7 kWh battery and the same DC and AC charging hardware. The Trailseeker is the most powerful and the longest in body. The Solterra is the family-size electric SUV. What this means for buyers

The cuts make Subaru's three EVs more directly comparable to mainstream electric SUVs from Tesla, Zeekr, Kia and BYD. A Solterra AWD at 61,990isnowwithin61,990isnowwithin3,000 of the Tesla Model Y RWD $58,990 plus on-road costs - while offering AWD performance and Subaru's extensive parts and service network.

Customers who placed orders before today should speak with their Subaru retailer to confirm how the revised pricing applies. Subaru has not stated publicly whether existing orders will automatically be transferred to the new MLP.
