Subaru Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for the Uncharted, a new electric small SUV due on sale locally in mid-2026. The Uncharted will be offered in a single all-wheel drive variant at $59,990 plus on-road costs, with pre-orders now open through authorised Subaru retailers and at Subaru.com.au.
The Uncharted is Subaru's third electric vehicle globally and Australia. It joins the Solterra and the recently launched Trailseeker in what Subaru calls its Sport Electric Vehicle (SEV) range, all built on the e-Subaru Global Platform.
Powertrain and performance
The Uncharted uses a dual-motor electric powertrain (one motor on each axle) producing a combined 252 kW, paired with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Subaru claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of approximately five seconds.
A 74.7 kWh CATL lithium-ion battery is mounted low in the chassis. Subaru quotes a preliminary WLTP range estimate of up to 522 km. The certified figure may differ but unlikely to be materially different. Three drive modes are available: ECO, Normal and Sport.

Charging
The Uncharted supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW, which Subaru says is sufficient to take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes. This is about average for the segment for now, until the latest flash charging technology from BYD arrives towardsthe end of the year.
AC charging is rated at 22 kW with three-phase capability - which is rare amongst EV models in Australia. A full charge can be completed in less than 4 hours.
The Uncharted also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability with a 220V/1500W power outlet.
Off-road capability
Standard off-road equipment includes Dual-mode X-Mode with Grip Control, Downhill Assist Control and a Multi-Terrain Monitor. Ground clearance is 211 mm at kerb weight. Subaru Symmetrical AWD distributes power to all four wheels in real time, using the same architecture found across the brand's petrol SUV range.

Design
The Uncharted has a fastback-inspired silhouette with a steeply sloping roofline. Flush rear door handles are integrated into the bodywork, and LED lighting features front and rear. Subaru notes that imagery released to date shows an overseas-specification model and is indicative only.

Interior and technology
The cabin is centred on a 14-inch high-definition touchscreen for navigation, media and vehicle settings, paired with a 7-inch LCD Multi-Information Display. Standard connectivity includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and dual wireless phone charging. A Panoramic 360-degree View Monitor is also standard.
Physical buttons are retained alongside the touchscreen. Other interior features include multi-colour LED ambient lighting, a digital rear-view mirror, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, synthetic leather seat trim, 8-way power-adjustable front seats with driver dual memory and lumbar support, heated front and rear outboard seats, reclining rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Subaru's electric SUV range compared
The Uncharted sits as the entry point to Subaru Australia's three-model electric SUV range. At $59,990, it is the most affordable of the three, undercutting the Solterra AWD by $4,000 despite sharing the same battery size and power output. The Trailseeker, which starts at $67,990, offers more power (280 kW) and a longer certified range (533 km WLTP) but in a larger wagon body.

What Subaru says
"The Uncharted needs to be experienced to be truly understood. It will surprise you in all the best ways. It's super energised, nimble, corners on a dime and makes you feel like the car constantly wants more from you. It carries the ground clearance of an SUV but the soul of a performance car," said Scott Lawrence, General Manager, Subaru Australia.
