A record number of new electric vehicles will be unveiled at Everything Electric Sydney next week, as the world's biggest EV show returns to Sydney Showground from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September.
Now in its fourth year in Australia, the show will feature more than 100 EV models and what organisers describe as the biggest EV test drive experience in the Southern Hemisphere. More than 40,000 visitors are expected across the three days.
Record EV sales set the scene
Everything Electric's return to Sydney coincides with EVs overtaking petrol and diesel vehicles in Australia's new-car market for the first time.
A record 27,089 battery electric vehicles were sold in Australia in August 2026, representing 24.9 per cent of the entire new-vehicle market. That is an increase of 171 per cent compared with August 2025.
“Everything Electric’s return to Sydney could not be more perfectly timed with hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicle sales overtaking petrol and diesel vehicles in Australia for the first time last month,” said Dan Caesar, Global CEO of Everything Electric.
“This is the biggest line-up of new vehicle launches we have ever hosted at our Sydney Show and we’re thrilled to be giving tens of thousands of visitors the chance to see, compare, and drive an extraordinary range of EVs in one place,” he said.
“This is Everything Electric’s fourth year in Australia, and we’ve watched the market grow year on year. Choice has expanded, competition has intensified and, as Australians do the sums, more are realising there has never been a better time to make the switch to electric,” he said.
New-model launches and debuts
Everything Electric Sydney will host new EV launches and first public viewings from 12 brands. Some model details are yet to be confirmed and will be announced closer to the show.
Cadillac
The all-electric Cadillac SUV range will be on display, led by the Australian launch of the MY27 LYRIQ-V, described by the brand as the quickest Cadillac ever produced.
Chery and Omoda Jaecoo
Both brands will unveil new models at the show. Further details have not yet been announced.
Forthing
New market entrant Forthing will make its first Australian show appearance, offering public test drives and unveiling a new MPV model due in 2027.
Geely
Geely will unveil two new SUV models joining its Australian line-up.
GWM
Two all-new vehicles will be revealed at the show: the Haval H7 and the Cannon PHEV.
Hyundai
The Hyundai STARIA Load Electric will be presented to the Australian public for the first time. The full range of Hyundai EVs and hybrids will also be on display.
iCAUR
New market entrant iCAUR will showcase its all-electric V25 in Australia for the first time, ahead of the brand's local arrival.
IM
The large, premium IM LS9 SUV will be seen in NSW for the first time, showcasing the next stage of IM's electric vehicle technology.
Lepas
New premium brand Lepas will preview two upcoming electric SUVs ahead of its official Australian launch: the mid-sized L6 and the compact L4.
MG
The MG U9 electric ute will be on display for the first time in NSW.
Zeekr
Zeekr Australia will unveil the highly anticipated 7GT eletric wagon to the public and confirm local variants and specifications for its new electric grand tourer.
Also on the show floor
The Genesis GV60 Magma will also be on display following its Australian launch in July, alongside the latest models from BYD, Farizon, GAC, Polestar, Subaru and other leading EV brands.
More than 7,500 EV test drives
Across the three days, Everything Electric Sydney will give visitors the chance to get behind the wheel of electric vehicles of every shape, size and price point, including passenger cars, SUVs, utes, vans, commercial vehicles and motorcycles.
An estimated 7,500 test drives will be available through participating manufacturers. Test drives are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are booked directly with manufacturers at the event. Visitors can also try e-bikes, skateboards and scooters on the dedicated Micro Mobility Test Track.
Beyond the cars
Everything Electric Sydney will also showcase the latest developments in home energy, solar, battery storage, EV charging and vehicle-to-grid technology, helping visitors understand how electrification can reduce household energy and transport costs.
Visitors will have access to free, one-on-one consultations with home energy experts covering solar panels, battery storage, smart meters, insulation and other practical ways to reduce energy bills.
More than 130 speakers will appear across 59 live sessions over the three days, covering topics from EV myths and charging solutions to sustainability and smart energy systems. The full theatre programme is available on the Everything Electric website.
