After a surprisingly strong first full year on Australian soil, XPeng has confirmed a trio of fresh models heading our way in 2026. The fast-growing Chinese brand has passed the two thousand sales mark for 2025 and its local distributor has now outlined exactly what arrives next.

Three new vehicles. Three different segments. One very ambitious push into the Australian EV market.

The first arrival is a heavily updated G6, followed by the all-new X9 people mover and a flagship G9L large SUV before the year closes. Here is what buyers can expect.

The Updated G6 Arrives First

XPeng’s G6 is the company’s only local model for now, although that will not be true for long. The refreshed version touches down at the end of the first quarter of 2026 and brings a number of quiet but meaningful improvements.

Externally, the styling gets a cleaner front end, redesigned rear lighting and fresh alloy wheel options. Inside, the central touchscreen grows from 14.9 to 15.6 inches. The dashboard also gets a tidy redesign with new ambient lighting elements and a noticeable jump in materials.

Battery and drivetrain tweaks vary depending on version. The Standard Range now uses a 68.5 kWh pack, enough to move its WLTP rating to 470 km. The Long Range adopts a smaller but more efficient 80.8 kWh pack and delivers 525 km on the WLTP cycle. Power output has nudged upward to 218 kW.

A new Performance variant joins the lineup and it is easily the punchiest G6 yet. With 358 kW and 660 Nm, it sprints to 100 km per hour in just 4.1 seconds and offers a 510 km WLTP rating using the same 80.8 kWh battery.

Australian pricing for any of these versions will be announced closer to launch.

The X9 People Mover

The next model to land is the X9, scheduled for mid 2026. XPeng is positioning it as a full size, seven seat electric people mover built on an 800 volt platform. Depending on market, it runs either a 94.8 kWh LFP battery or a 105 kWh NMC unit. With those packs it can achieve up to 702 km on the very generous CLTC test cycle. WLTP numbers are still to come.

Inside, the X9 mirrors the G6 with a large touchscreen, a separate driver display and a plush arrangement of soft touch surfaces. The second row is where things level up. Buyers can option electrically adjustable captain’s chairs that look more business class than family car.

Available equipment includes zero gravity front seats with sixteen point massage, auto retracting second and third row seating, a huge 21.4 inch entertainment screen for rear passengers and a premium twenty three speaker Xopera audio system.

Exact inclusions for Australia will be confirmed once the model gets closer to launch.

G9L Takes Aim At Large SUV Buyers

XPeng’s final act for 2026 is the G9L. It lands at the end of the year and enters the crowded large SUV segment, although with one big difference. It is fully electric.

The G9L measures just under five metres long and uses the same 800 volt architecture as the X9. Power comes from an 89 kWh battery that delivers up to 570 km WLTP. Fast charging sits at a claimed three hundred kilowatts which means ten to eighty percent in around twenty minutes. Buyers who want performance can choose the dual motor version that produces up to 408 kW and runs the zero to one hundred sprint in 4.2 seconds.

Luxury features are plentiful. Expect air suspension, massaging seats for both rows, soft close doors, Nappa leather trim, a twenty two speaker Xopera system and even external speakers that let the car play music outside the cabin. A full reveal of Australian specs will happen in 2026.

XPeng’s distributor has also teased that two or three additional global models are in development which hints that the brand is planning a much wider local footprint.

Pricing for the three confirmed vehicles will be announced in the new year.
