Lepas L6 BEV price in Australia
The Lepas L6 BEV starts at $47,990 MSRP, before on-road costs. Lepas has listed one model and one price, and has not announced any other variants.
Brad Ryan, Head of Lepas Australia, said the L6 BEV is an important step in establishing the brand locally. He said the price gives customers "a bold option to consider" in an increasingly competitive electric SUV market.
As an introductory offer, Lepas will include premium paint at no extra charge for a limited time. The company has not said when the offer ends or what conditions apply.
The L6 BEV is available in crimson purple, light speed orange, khaki white, bamboo grey and carbon crystal black. Carbon crystal black is pre-order only.

Battery, range and charging
The L6 BEV uses a 65kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which Lepas says draws on Chery Group's latest battery technology. The motor produces 160kW of maximum power and 275Nm of maximum torque.
Lepas claims a driving range of 440km on the WLTP test cycle. DC fast charging takes the battery from 30 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes on a 120kW charger.
Lepas has not published a peak DC charging speed. The 22-minute figure applies to a 120kW charger, so a slower charger would take longer.
Design, interior and technology
Exterior features include 19-inch machined alloy wheels, acoustic glass for the front doors, puddle lights and a panoramic sunroof with a retractable sunshade. Inside, Lepas has built the cabin around a technology-focused driving experience.
Interior and technology features include:
- 13.2-inch LCD infotainment touchscreen
- 8.88-inch LCD instrument cluster
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wired and wireless
- Eight-speaker Sony sound system
- 50W wireless device charging

Safety, warranty and ownership
Lepas lists a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems and automatic parking assist on the L6 BEV. The release does not name the individual systems or mention an ANCAP safety rating.
Ownership coverage includes:
- 7-year unlimited km vehicle warranty
- 8-year/200,000km battery warranty
- 7-year roadside assistance
- 7-year capped price servicing
Lepas has not published the servicing prices under the capped price program.

How the L6 BEV compares on price
At $47,990, the L6 BEV is priced above the XPeng L03 RWD Standard Range at $41,900 and the Geely EX5 Inspire at $45,990. It is below the XPeng G6 Standard Range at $51,800 plus on-roads and the BYD Sealion 7 Premium at $54,990 before on-roads. The entry EX5 Complete starts lower than the Inspire, at $41,990. All figures come from earlier Zecar coverage and may have changed.
All five prices in the table are before on-road costs, so the comparison is like for like. Final on-road prices will vary by state.
Lepas L6 BEV vs key rivals
Model | Price | Battery | WLTP range | Power / torque |
Lepas L6 BEV | $47,990 MSRP (before on-roads) | 65kWh LFP | 440km | 160kW / 275Nm |
$41,900 (before on-roads) | 58.3kWh LFP | 445km | 163kW / 280Nm
$45,990 (before on-roads) | 68.39kWh LFP | 450km | 160kW / 320Nm
$51,800 (plus on-roads) | 68.5kWh LFP | 480km | 185kW / 440Nm
$54,990 (before on-roads) | 82.56kWh LFP | 482km | 230kW / 380Nm |
The L6 BEV's 440km claimed range is close to the L03 RWD Standard Range (445km) and the EX5 Inspire (450km), but it costs $6,090 and $2,000 more than those two respectively. Its 160kW output matches the EX5 Inspire and sits just below the L03's 163kW. Lepas has not published a peak DC charging speed, while the L03 lists 193kW and the EX5 Inspire 100kW. Against the G6 Standard Range and Sealion 7 Premium, the L6 BEV has less range and power. Whether the premium over the L03 and EX5 is worthwhile will depend on what each buyer values.
