Zeekr is gearing up to expand its presence in Australia with the arrival of its first mid-sized electric SUV, the 7X, expected to launch in the final quarter of 2024. This move follows the brand’s introduction of the Zeekr X small SUV and 009 people mover, marking a significant step in its global expansion.

The 7X will eneter the popular mid-sized electric SUVs, currently led by the Tesla Model Y. Measuring 4,825mm in length, 1,930mm in width, and 1,656mm in height, it offers a spacious two-row interior, positioning it alongside large SUVs such as the Kia Sorento while providing a premium driving experience.
Zeekr has ambitious plans for the Australian market to sell between 2,500 and 3,000 vehicles in 2024. The 7X is expected to play a key role in these sales, especially if its launch moves forward.
Powertrain & Performance
Built on the PMA2+ EV platform, based on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture, the 7X features an 800V electrical system for fast charging and efficiency.
It should be noted with respect fast charging times in Australia, it is unlikely the below charging times will be possible. They would require 500 kW DC fast chargers in order to reach the 460 kW peak charging rate the 7x is capable of. Today, the fastest chargers in Australia are 350 kW and are mostly featured in the ChargeFox network and are few and far between.
Zeekr 7x battery options include:
Battery Type | Range (CLTC) | Charge Time (10-80% DC) | Drivetrain Options |
75 kWh LFP | 605 km | 10.5 minutes | Single-motor (RWD) |
100 kWh Ternary Lithium | 780 km (RWD) / 705 km (AWD) | 15 minutes | Single-motor (RWD) / Dual-motor (AWD) |
The single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant delivers 310kW and 440Nm and achieves 0-100 km/h in a brisk 5.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces 475kW and 710Nm, reducing acceleration to 3.8 seconds.
