Zeekr recently debuted its sleek new 7GT electric wagon at the Sydney International EV Show 2025, marking the model's first public appearance in Australia. The performance-focused liftback garnered significant interest at the Sydney EV show which featured less models on display than previous years.

While Zeekr hasn't confirmed plans for a right-hand drive version, Zeekr Australia, Head of Marketing, Andrew Haurissa indicated the 7GT is "under evaluation" for the Australian market. Based on the sales success of its sibling the Zeekr 7x and the interest generated from the show, an Australian launch is looking reasonably strong.

What Makes the Zeekr 7GT Stand Out

The Zeekr 7GT sits on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (PMA2+) platform, shared with the Zeekr 7X SUV and Smart #5. Its design follows Zeekr's new-generation "Hidden Energy" styling, combining smooth, futuristic lines with aerodynamic precision.

Key dimensions:

  • Length: 4864mm
  • Width: 1900mm
  • Height: 1445mm
  • Wheelbase: 2925mm

That makes it slightly longer, wider, and lower than the BYD Seal, with a more aggressive, sport-oriented stance.

At the rear, the 7GT features a floating D-pillar design and a full-width LED light bar, emphasizing its modern liftback shape. Zeekr says the model's drag coefficient of 0.198 Cd ranks among the best in the world — better than the Mercedes-Benz EQS (0.20 Cd) but just behind the Lucid Air and Xiaomi SU7.

Zeekr says the 7GT's 800-volt electrical system enables exceptional fast-charging performance:

  • 10–80% recharge in just 10.5 minutes
  • Up to 610km of range added in 15 minutes using a 420kW DC ultra-fast charger

Likely Australian Pricing

In China, the Zeekr 7GT (marketed as the Zeekr 007 GT) is competitively priced across three trim levels:

  • RWD 75 kWh: ¥202,900 (approximately AU$43,800)
  • RWD 100 kWh: ¥222,900 (approximately AU$48,100)
  • AWD 100 kWh: ¥262,900 (approximately AU$56,850)

These prices position the 7GT as exceptional value in China, offering premium performance and technology at mainstream pricing. By comparison, the Zeekr 7x has a price range of ¥229,900 to ¥269,900 - sitting slightly above the 7GT.

Based on the relative pricing in the Chinese market, in the event of an Australian launch, expect the 7GT range start at a similar price or slightly below the 7x - $57,900 to $72,900 plus on-roads.
