Zeekr’s all-electric 7X SUV is gearing up for its Australian debut, and leaked pricing has given us an early look at where it’ll sit in the market. Slated to arrive in 2026, the premium Chinese EV is shaping up to be a tech-packed alternative to the Tesla Model Y and Kia EV5 but with a price tag that nudges it closer to luxury rivals like the BMW iX3 and Audi Q6 e-tron.
But how does it stack up in value, performance, and tech? Let’s break it down.

Starting from $65K And Up
Leaked pricing from Zeekr’s Australian Facebook community suggests the 7X will start between $65,000 and $70,000 (before on-road costs) for the standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) model, and:
- Long Range RWD: $70,000 to $78,000
- All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Performance: $78,000 to $85,000
That places it above rivals like the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV5, and XPeng G6, which often start $7,000 to $10,000 cheaper for similar spec. Zeekr's market positioning for the 7X is the premium segment while still undercutting premium competitors like the Audi Q6 e-tron, BMW iX3, and Genesis GV70 Electrified.

High Performance Meets Long Range
At launch, three powertrains will be offered in Australia:
Variant | Battery Type | Range (WLTP) | Power Output | 0–100 km/h |
Standard RWD | 75kWh LFP | 480 km | 310kW / 440Nm | 6.0 sec |
Long Range RWD | 100kWh NMC | 615 km | 310kW / 440Nm | 6.0 sec |
AWD Performance | 100kWh NMC (Dual Motor) | 543 km | 470kW / 710Nm | 3.8 sec |
By comparison, the Tesla Model Y Long Range claims 533 km, and the Kia EV5 GT-Line offers up to 600 km.
The AWD 7X is no slouch either — 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds puts it in sports car territory, comparable to a Porsche Macan Electric — but at a much lower price point.

Fast Charging? Yes. Realistically? Not Yet
Zeekr says the 7X supports up to 480kW DC fast charging which would mean a 10 to 80% top up of the battery in under 15 minutes.
The catch? There’s currently no public charger in Australia capable of delivering that much power. The fastest currently is 350 kW being offered by Evie Networks and ChargeFox. it is also one of the few EV models to offer 22kW AC charging, meaning top-ups can be completed in 4.5 to 5.5 hours, depending on the variant.

Design, Features, and First Impressions
While full Aussie specs are still under wraps, Zeekr is promising a tech-packed cabin, slick design, and upmarket materials across the range.
Colours include black, grey, white, and a striking green, while higher trims get a two-tone blue and silver roof combo — think sporty Euro aesthetic with a hint of concept car flair.

Zeekr has started taking refundable $2,000 deposits through select dealers, but the first deliveries aren't expected until late 2025. That puts it in line with other major EV releases set to land over the next 12 months.
If you're cross-shopping EVs like the Model Y or EV5 and are tempted by something more premium, but not as pricey as a BMW or Audi, the Zeekr 7X might be that sweet spot.
It’s not the cheapest in its class, but its long range, fast acceleration, and tech-focused cabin could make it a standout if Zeekr backs it up with strong after-sales support.
