Tesla has officially launched its Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised subscription service across Australia and New Zealand, giving eligible owners access to one of the company’s most advanced software packages yet.

This rollout follows last month’s release of FSD Supervised in both countries, the first right-hand-drive markets in the world to gain access to the technology. Initially, it was only available as a $10,100 purchase option for new vehicles. Tesla has now expanded accessibility through flexible monthly subscriptions.

Australian drivers with Hardware 4.0 (AI4) equipped vehicles can now subscribe to FSD Supervised for $149 per month, while New Zealand customers can access it for $159 per month.

For those who already have the Enhanced Autopilot package, Tesla offers an upgrade starting from $75 per month.

The subscription process is straightforward and handled directly through the Tesla app:

  • Open the Tesla App
  • Go to Upgrades → Software Upgrades → Subscribe

Tesla owners have expressed enthusiasm on social media following the announcement, with many highlighting how the subscription model makes the software more attainable compared to a full purchase.

However, the feature is not compatible with older vehicles running on Hardware 3, leaving some long-time Tesla owners unable to access FSD Supervised at this stage.

The software itself represents Tesla’s next step toward autonomous driving, combining driver supervision with powerful AI-driven navigation and control systems designed to handle a variety of road conditions.
