Tesla Model Y Deliveries Start Rolling Out In Australia

Tesla has kicked off deliveries of its refreshed 2025 Model Y in Australia, with the first units landing in Sydney this week. The refreshed Model Y, known as 'Juniper', feeatures major improvements inside and out, and the first batch belongs to early adopters who snapped up the launch series orders.

Tesla’s Australia country director, Thom Drew, confirmed the news, marking the official arrival of a car that’s expected to help boost the brand’s momentum after a sluggish start to 2025.

Two variants, sharper pricing, more value

The updated Model Y lineup opens at $58,900 before on-roads for the single-motor RWD variant. This version uses a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that supports 100% daily charging and delivers up to 466 km of range (WLTP). It sprints from 0-100 km/h in a respectable 5.9 seconds.

For those after more punch, the dual-motor AWD variant starts at $68,900. With up to 551 km of range and a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.8 seconds. The AWD variants offers more than just speed, they provide more range and extra traction.

Both of these variants are priced $4,500 less than the Launch Series versions, which came with a few sweeteners for early buyers, including:

  • Free premium paint options
  • Upgraded badging
  • Acceleration Boost upgrade on the AWD

What’s new in the 2025 Model Y?

Tesla didn’t just tweak the price — the 2025 Model Y brings substantial updates based on customer feedback. Highlights include:

  • Powered, reclining second-row seats
