First Shipments Arrive, Deliveries Begin
Just two weeks ago, thousands of refreshed Model Ys set sail from Shanghai, and now they’ve started arriving at ports across Australia. Tesla Australia has confirmed that test drives are now available nationwide, and early order holders are already receiving confirmed delivery dates.
Some buyers are reporting that their Launch Series vehicles (Tesla’s initial batch of feature-packed variants) will be ready for pickup as soon as next week. Sydney and Melbourne deliveries are rolling out nearly simultaneously.

Launch Series Hits First, With Bonus Features
The Launch Series versions of the Model Y will be the first to reach customers. These come with a few perks over the standard models, including:
- Free paint upgrades
- Acceleration Boost for AWD models
- Special badging
While these variants were priced $4,500 above standard versions, the extras sweeten the deal for early adopters.

New Model Y Pricing and Performance
Tesla’s 2025 Model Y lineup starts at $58,900 before on-roads for the single-motor RWD version, which sprints from 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The dual-motor AWD variant comes in at $68,900 before on-roads and cuts the sprint time to just 4.8 seconds, thanks in part to a larger battery and the aforementioned Acceleration Boost (on Launch Series).
