MG Cyberster Electric Roadster Now Available for Order: Launching Q4 2024

MG is making a grand re-entry into the sports car arena with the launch of the MG Cyberster, the first all-electric roadster in Australia. The Cyberster, which is a nod to MG's storied sports car heritage, is set to redefine the electric vehicle (EV) market down under.

The Cyberster will join the existing MG line-up which features the MG4 and MG ZS EV.

Brad Chruszcz, MG Motor Australia’s National Sales Manager, announced that the MG Cyberster, conceived in MG's London studio, is now available for pre-order at Australian dealerships, with its official launch slated for the fourth quarter of 2024.

"The Cyberster is a modern interpretation of the classic MG spirit, combining the joy of driving with cutting-edge electric technology," said Chruszcz. "We're thrilled to kick off dealer orders and invite potential customers to register their interest for this all-electric marvel, complete with its distinctive scissor doors, a hallmark of Carl Gotham's design vision at MG London."

The Cyberster pays tribute to the iconic MG roadsters of the past, such as the MGB of the '60s and '70s and the MG F of the '90s, but with a contemporary twist. It's a revival that's been long-awaited, and Chruszcz is eager to see customers experience the Cyberster's blend of fun and innovation. Dealers are already accepting orders, with the expected price range to be between $100,000 and $150,000, though the final MSRP will be determined closer to the launch date.

The Cyberster will feature a fully-electric fabric hood, available in either a deep red or black, which can be operated in a mere 15 seconds. For now, the focus is on bringing the 77 KWH AWD variant to Australian shores, promising a drive that's both thrilling and sophisticated.

While the final specifications for the local market are yet to be confirmed, the Cyberster is a ground breaking vehicle, bringing a compelling vehicle to a segment which currently has no options.
