The MG ZS EV is one of the most affordable electric SUV in Australia.
UPDATE: MG has increased prices for MY23 and MY24 models of the MG ZS EV by between $1,000 to $2,000 effective 1 January 2024.
Despite the price increases, the Chinese-made electric car remains one of Australia’s most affordable electric SUV, starting from $41,990 to $51,990 before on-road costs, with between 320km to 440km claimed WLTP driving range. Revised pricing is as follows:

UPDATE 6/11/23: Prices for the MG ZS EV Excite, Essence and Long Range reduced
The MG ZS EV is eligible for most Australian electric car incentives, including the fringe benefits tax (FBT) exemption for fleets and novated leases.
The small electric SUV directly competes with the BYD Atto 3, in addition to the BYD Dolphin, MG 4 and GWM Ora hatches, and more expensive Tesla Model Y.

MG ZS EV Key Specs: Range, Charging and Size
The MG electric SUV is offered in two battery sizes with similar electric motor outputs and a front-wheel drive powertrain.
The ZS EV Essence offers up to 320km of claimed WLTP driving range using a longer-lasting and cobalt-free 49kWh usable lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery.
Meanwhile, the ZS EV Long Range offers up to 440km WLTP range (120km more) using the more energy dense 68.3kWh usable nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cathode.
The Chinese-made EV is capable of charging at up to 11kW AC and 80kW DC speeds on all models, with exterior vehicle-to-load (V2L) via the front charging port. But, a separate V2L adapter accessory purchase is required from a MG dealer.

The MG ZS EV Essence variance starts from $43,990 before on-road costs and incentives. Since it is a high-spec model, it comes with all features as standard, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, mobile app connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, and the full suite of active safety assistance systems.

MG ZS EV Warranty and Servicing
The MG ZS EV is covered by a seven-year, unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty, battery warranty, roadside assistance, and capped price servicing scheme.
For commercial buyers, the warranty is limited to seven-years/160,000km (whichever comes first).
The MG electric car needs servicing every 24 months/40,000km, with more than 80 MG dealer locations available across Australia.

Long Range
The MG ZS EV Long Range has a higher price than the BYD Atto 3 Extended Range. It features the largest battery out of the bunch and a claimed WLTP driving range in line with the BYD electric car and Kia Niro EV.
