GAC has officially priced its AION V electric SUV for the Australian market, confirming a starting point of $42,590 before on-road costs. The model will arrive in Premium and Luxury trims as part of GAC’s three-model local rollout and will compete head on with value focused EVs like the BYD Atto 3, Geely EX5 and Leapmotor C10.
The AION V enters the market as an affordable mid size family EV with a large battery, strong equipment levels and one of the segment’s longest warranties. Order books open nationally on 18 November 2025.

Zecar’s take
The AION V arrives at exactly the right moment for the Australian EV market. Buyers are demanding longer range options that do not break the bank and GAC has pushed hard on value by delivering a large LFP battery, high equipment levels and a long warranty at a price that competes directly with the top Chinese brands already established here.

If GAC can match its pricing with strong nationwide support and consistent supply, the AION V has the potential to become one of Australia’s highest value electric SUVs. The real test will be how it performs in areas like software updates, servicing and long term brand trust, but on paper it lands with strong credentials.
