The BYD Atto 3 is now more affordable than ever with the introduction of a base model starting at $39,990.

The BYD Atto 3, Australia's second best-selling electrc SUV, continues to strengthen its reputation for affordability and practicality. It has introduced a new entry-level variant and reduced the price of the premium model.

The 2025 BYD Atto 3 lineup now starts at $39,990 before on-road costs for the new Essential variant and $44,990 for the Premium variant (previously known as "Extended Range").

Variant2024 price2025 priceChange
Essential$44,499$39,990-$4,509
Premium$47,499$44,990-$2,509

While the new Essential trim represents a $4.5k reduction compared to the outgoing "Standard Range" trim, it loses out on several features.

Compared to the previous "Standard Range", it now comes with 17-inch wheels instead of 18-inch ones, a 12.8-inch display replacing the 15.6-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker system instead of an eight-speaker stereo, and a single-tone black cabin instead of the blue/black interior.

Additionally, it no longer includes a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, roof rails, heated front seats, LED rear-side reading lights, and the 'music rhythm' function for the ambient interior lighting system.

There have been no changes to the battery or drivetrain, however, a subtle exterior refresh is expected towards the ends of the year.
