A New Electrified Entry for Skoda Australia

The Kodiaq Select PHEV arrives at $63,490 before on-road costs. Instead of mirroring the full petrol range, Skoda is launching the PHEV in a single, well-equipped trim. It sits between the petrol-powered Sportline and the performance-focused RS, giving buyers a balanced mix of efficiency and everyday usability.

Its pricing places it squarely against the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, although that model is due for upgrades. It also comes in noticeably cheaper than the sportier and more premium Cupra Terramar VZe.

Power, Range and Charging: What the Kodiaq PHEV Delivers

Skoda has paired a small petrol engine with a strong electric motor to create a smooth and efficient hybrid platform. The standout stat is the electric-only driving range, which gives the Kodiaq PHEV a genuine edge over many rivals.

Key performance and charging highlights:

  • 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with an 85 kW electric motor
  • Combined output of 150 kW and 350 Nm
  • 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds
  • Large 25.7 kWh battery for extended electric-only driving
  • Up to 112 km electric range on the WLTP test cycle
  • AC charging up to 11 kW
  • DC fast charging up to 50 kW
  • Multiple regenerative braking settings (low, high, automatic)
  • Choice of hybrid or electric modes
  • Two charging profiles: engine-assisted charging or plug-in-only charging

Drivers can choose between hybrid or pure electric running, as well as multiple regeneration settings. There are also two charge-management modes that either allow the engine to charge the battery while driving or reserve battery charging for plug-in use only.

Features and Equipment: What You Get

While the petrol Kodiaq Select comes with seven seats and all-wheel drive, the plug-in hybrid version takes a different approach. Battery packaging constraints mean the PHEV is available only as a five-seater with front-wheel drive, but it still carries a generous list of equipment.

You get heated and power-adjustable front seats, a large 13-inch infotainment system, tri-zone climate control, wireless phone mirroring and wireless charging pads. The outside receives 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and folding mirrors and keyless entry.

Safety tech is modern and extensive, giving the Kodiaq PHEV a strong value proposition within the segment.
