Autel has installed around 10,000 AC charge points across Australian homes and businesses in under five years. Three chargers make up its current AC range: AC Lite, AC Single and AC Ultra. Each is built for a different job, from a single home garage to a two-bay commercial site.
This guide covers what each model does, who it suits, and future models Autel is bringing to Australia later this year.
All three current models are sold and supported through JetCharge, one of Autel's key Australian distribution partners.

Prices vary by configuration. AC Lite is priced at $770. AC Single ranges from $880 to $1,175 (ex GST), and AC Ultra is $5,499 (ex GST).
AC Lite: home charging
AC Lite is Autel's entry-level charger for Australian homes. It is a high quality charger focused on doing the basics well, making charging easy and seamless.

While not a necessity for homeowners, it is one of the few chargers that features OCPP, the universal protocol that lets EV chargers communicate with other software. It opens up a plethora of features not typically available in this price range including: smart charging, time-of-use optimisation, solar surplus charging, dynamic load management and integration with energy retailers or VPPs. It can also help future-proof a charger by allowing different compatible energy-management platforms to control it.
AC Lite suits homeowners who want straightforward overnight charging without paying for features they will not use, while having the optionality to take advantage of the features that OCPP has to offer. 7.4kW is more than enough to fully charge most EVs overnight on a standard home supply.
AC Single: workplaces and small business
AC Single is built for sites between a single home charger and a large commercial installation: a small business car park, a workplace with a handful of EV drivers, or a body corporate with one or two bays.

With optional CT accessories, AC Single also integrates with home solar systems, prioritising EV charging from excess solar generation. The built-in 4G is relevant to sites without reliable WiFi, such as basement car parks in apartment buildings.
AC Single authenticates through RFID an essential feature for chargers in public or shared use cases. There is also an optional version with card payment via tap and pay, enabling commercial operators to take contactless card payments at the charger instead of requiring an app or RFID tag.
AC Ultra: two vehicles, one charger
AC Ultra is for sites with high usage and traffic: retail car parks, fleet depots and workplaces charging more than one or two EVs a day.

Because AC Ultra charges two vehicles from one unit with shared power management, it is often a simpler install than two separate single-port chargers on the same circuit. The display can also feature advertising, which some commercial operators can utilise to create additional income streams.
The AC Ultra is set to be replaced by the AC Dual which is set to launch in the coming weeks.
Coming soon: AC Compact 2
Autel previewed the AC Compact 2 at its Innovation Forum in Sydney in June. It is expected in Australia in October, pending RCM certification, at a price under $700, undercutting AC Lite and becoming the brand’s latest entry level model. The AC Compact 2 includes features not seen at this price point, including:
- Five-year warranty: one of the longest amongst consumer EV chargers, irrespective of pricepoint.
- Two built-in CTs: for solar integration, so the charger can prioritise EV charging from excess solar generation.
- Matter support: connects directly to Apple Home, Google Home or Amazon Alexa without a separate app.
- AI-driven scheduling: shifts charging to the cheapest tariff windows automatically.
- V2G-ready: built to support vehicle-to-grid charging, though this is not yet practical in Australia and depends on vehicle and energy retailer support.
The AC Compact 2 has also been designed to simplify the installation experience for installers through one-click commissioning and easy backplate replacement, simplifying maintenance and future servicing.
