New uncamouflaged photos of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance have been circulating online, hinting at an imminent official launch.
These images come after sightings of a fleet of undisguised cars near a Tesla showroom in California. As previously reported, "Performance" moniker will be replaced with "Ludicrous" - a nod to Elon Musk's fondness for the 1987 movie Spaceballs.
The latest leak showcases red, blue, black, and grey cars spotted around Malibu, California.

While the design hasn't changed much from previous glimpses, the new photos emphasize the increased distinction between the standard and high-performance Model 3s - something that was lacking in the previous generation of Model 3s. The Ludicrous edition gets unique front and rear bumpers, a front splitter, red brake calipers, and new 20-inch "Warp" wheels with aerodynamic inserts. The trunk lid features a new "Ludicrous" badge, referencing the movie's lightspeed mode.
Performance rumours suggest a significant power boost. The combination of a 158kW front motor and a new, stronger 303kW rear motor could result in a combined output of 461kW. Additionally, reports claim a 0-60mph (97km/h) acceleration time of 2.9 seconds (down from 3.2 seconds), translating to a 0-100km/h time of roughly 3.0 seconds (down from 3.3 seconds).

Previous leaks hinted at other upgrades like Tesla's first-ever adaptive suspension for the Model 3, new front sports seats with improved bolstering, and of course, the "Ludicrous" branding.
An official unveiling of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance (or Ludicrous) is expected very soon.
