Unique design enhancements

The leaked video footage, which surfaced on the X platform (formerly Twitter), showcases the Model 3 with all the hallmarks of Tesla's Performance models. It's furnished with new 20-inch alloy wheels that house performance brakes accentuated with red calipers. A sleek carbon-fibre lip spoiler adorns the boot, adding to its dynamic aesthetics.

What's particularly noteworthy is the revamped front bumper design, featuring side air inlets and a black front splitter. Additionally, sporty fins attached to the rear diffuser mark a renewed design ethos for Tesla's performance-focused electric sedan.

Tesla aficionados will spot the 'Ludicrous' badge in place of the conventional red-underlined Dual Motor badge.

The 'Ludicrous' badge does not signify a new 'Plaid' level trim but remains tied to the longstanding Performance variant as seen in the previous generation Model 3s. As per Tesla representatives, while the vehicle maintains its dual electric motor configuration, there is a strong likelihood of significant performance improvements.

On the inside, discerning drivers will appreciate the redesigned bucket seats which offer additional support and come in choices of black or white upholstery, setting the Performance edition apart from the standard Model 3 variants.

Model 3 'Ludicrous' Performance credentials

While there's no official word yet on whether the new Performance will be quicker than its predecessor, it is touted to exceed the latter's 393kW power output and its claimed 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.3 seconds, all thanks to its all-wheel drive system.

Tesla enthusiasts and electric car aficionados won't have to wait much longer for full details, as the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance is rumoured to have its grand unveiling by the end of next month, according to industry insiders. Stay tuned to witness how Tesla will once again raise the bar for high-performance electric vehicles.
