Polestar Reduces Prices Across Australian EV Lineup: Savings of up to $5,000

Polestar, the Swedish-Chinese EV manufacturer, has announced price cuts for their 2025 model year vehicles in Australia. The price cuts are across almost all models, including the Polestar 2, 3, and 4. The reductions come off the back off slumping sales, where in July sales are down 27 per cent compared to the same time last year.

Polestar previously reduced prices of its 2024 Polestar 2 inventory by $5,000 to $10,000 in the lead up to the end of the financial year.

The Polestar 2 is now $5,000 cheaper across the range and now comes standard with Pilot Pack ($3,500). The range topping Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor also gets a Harman Kardon 600W 13-speaker sound system and tinted rear windows.

Polestar 3

The Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor has not benefited from pricereduction, increasing by $1230 while the Performance Pack-gets a $1470 reduction.

Polestar 4

The Polestar 4, due to arrive in November, is $3,000 cheaper across the range with both models now under the LCT, now making it eligible for the FBT exemption for EVs. The 2025 Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor is $78,500 plus on-road costs.

EV Market Price Reductions

The price reductions continue a trend we are seeing across the broader Australian EV market. We are seeing price discounting across the board with EV models like Tesla Model 3/Y, GWM Ora, MG 4, Peugeot e-2008, Renault Megane E-Tech, Nissan Leaf and Polestar 2 all reducing prices, aiming to boost sales and clear 2023 excess inventory.
