Leapmotor has unveiled a significant update for its popular B10 electric SUV, introducing larger batteries, faster charging, improved performance and a new 800V electrical architecture for higher-spec variants in China.
While the upgrades have so far only been announced for the Chinese market, they provide a strong indication of what could eventually arrive in Australia, where the B10 has quickly become the brand's best-selling model.
The updates include up to 610km of claimed CLTC driving range, a larger infotainment display, quicker acceleration and substantially faster DC charging for 800V models.

Bigger batteries and faster performance
The updated B10 receives improvements across the lineup, with both battery capacity and performance increasing.
The entry-level 400V model now replaces its 56.2kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a larger 60.8kWh pack. Leapmotor claims this increases driving range by 30km, taking it to 540km on the CLTC cycle.
For Australian buyers, the gain is likely to translate to roughly 20km of additional WLTP range. The current Australian base model, B10 Style, is rated at 361km WLTP, suggesting a revised figure of around 380km WLTP if the update reaches local showrooms.
Performance also improves. The revised 400V model cuts its 0-100km/h sprint from 8.0 seconds to 6.6 seconds, giving the SUV noticeably quicker acceleration.
Higher-spec Chinese variants receive an even larger 69.7kWh LFP battery, replacing the previous 67.1kWh unit, increasing claimed CLTC driving range to 610km.

Technology and interior receive a major upgrade
Beyond the battery improvements, Leapmotor has also refreshed the cabin with several new technology features.
The existing 14.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen has been replaced by a much larger 17.3-inch 3K central display, accompanied by a redesigned 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 55-inch augmented reality head-up display.
Standard equipment such as the 360-degree camera and panoramic glass roof remains unchanged.
Chinese flagship models continue to offer LiDAR, supporting advanced driver assistance features including:

- Lane change assist
- Rear autonomous emergency braking
Australian owners have already benefited from recent software improvements. Earlier this year, Leapmotor rolled out an over-the-air update that introduced:

What this means for Australia
Although these upgrades have only been confirmed for China, they are encouraging news for Australian buyers.
The B10 has become Leapmotor Australia's standout performer, accounting for around two-thirds of the brand's local sales between January and June 2026. During the same period, Leapmotor's Australian sales increased by 152.1 per cent year on year, with the B10 comfortably outselling the larger C10 SUV.
If these hardware upgrades eventually arrive locally, Australian buyers could benefit from:
