Key Points

  • Audi Q6 e-tron and Q6 Sportback e-tron pricing for October 2026 production onward starts at $89,900 (MLP), with the Audi SQ6 e-tron from $129,900 and the SQ6 Sportback e-tron from $134,900.
  • A limited-run Audi Q6 e-tron sport edition is available now from $95,900 drive-away for orders placed until October 2026, adding 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof and metallic paint as standard.
  • The luxury car tax threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles is $91,661 for the 2026-27 financial year, meaning the Q6 e-tron sport edition and both SQ6 e-tron variants sit above the cap for the EV FBT exemption.

Audi Australia has refreshed its Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron electric range, adding extra standard equipment and sharpening prices for vehicles built from October 2026. The changes apply to the Q6 e-tron and the higher-performance SQ6 e-tron, in both SUV and Sportback body styles.

The price reduction ensures the base Q6 e-tron models are eligible for EV incentives such as the EV FBT exemption. Alongside the updated 2027 model year pricing, Audi is also running a limited offer on the outgoing Q6 e-tron sport edition for buyers who want the car now.

Q6 e-tron sport edition: limited offer available now

The Audi Q6 e-tron sport edition is available in SUV and Sportback body styles, priced from $95,900 drive-away for both. The offer applies to vehicles ordered until October 2026, for buyers wanting immediate delivery through the Audi dealer network.

It runs a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 185kW, or 215kW with launch control activated, and 450Nm of torque. 0-100km/h takes 7.6 seconds, dropping to 7.0 seconds with launch control engaged. The 83kWh (75.8kWh usable) battery charges at up to 225kW DC. A 10 to 80 percent charge takes just over 20 minutes under the right conditions, and 10 minutes of charging adds around 250km of range.

Audi has also refined pricing and standard equipment for the next Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron models, built from October 2026 production and due in Australia in the first half of 2027. Audi says the new pricing is designed to let buyers benefit from the higher luxury car tax thresholds that apply from 1 July 2026.

SQ6 e-tron: dual-motor performance

The Audi SQ6 e-tron uses dual electric motors for quattro all-wheel drive, producing 360kW, or 380kW with launch control activated, with 275Nm from the front axle and 580Nm from the rear. Audi claims 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds with launch control engaged. Its larger 100kWh (94.9kWh usable) battery charges at up to 270kW DC, with a 10 to 80 percent charge taking around 21 minutes.

Audi says the revised SQ6 e-tron pricing represents up to a $22,800 saving, though the company hasn't specified what that figure is measured against.

Does the Q6 e-tron or SQ6 e-tron qualify for the EV FBT exemption?

The EV FBT exemption applies to eligible employers and employees on cars priced below the luxury car tax threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles, at the time the car is first held or used. For the 2026-27 financial year, which started on 1 July 2026, that threshold is $91,661. All current EVs are treated as fuel-efficient vehicles, so it's this threshold, not the general LCT threshold, that decides eligibility.

At $95,900 drive-away, the Audi Q6 e-tron sport edition sits above the $91,661 threshold, so it does not qualify for the EV FBT exemption.

The SQ6 e-tron and SQ6 Sportback e-tron, priced from $129,900 and $134,900 MLP, are well above the threshold and aren't eligible either.

The Q6 e-tron and Q6 Sportback e-tron are priced from $89,900 MLP, which is under the threshold. That figure excludes dealer delivery and government charges though, and Audi hasn't published a drive-away price for the 2027 models, so whether the final on-road price stays under $91,661 isn't confirmed. Audi's own comments suggest that's the intent, with the brand saying the new pricing is designed to let buyers benefit from the higher LCT thresholds.
