The updated Tesla Model Y, also known as 'Project Juniper' facelift, has been spotted for the first time, about a year after the the release of the updated Tesla Model 3. The camouflaged Tesla Model Y, spotted in California, is believed to be the refreshed version of the world's most best selling electric vehicle. Despite Tesla CEO Elon Musk's statement that no refresh would occur in 2024, the sighting suggests that refreshed model may be readying for a potential 2025 release.

The vehicle, which had its interior and exterior details covered, hints at a design update similar to the Tesla Model 3 'Highland' with sleeker lighting elements. Although the specifics have not been announced, it's expected that the Model Y will share design cues with its sedan counterpart, the Model 3, as they are built on the same platform.

The updated Model 3 also featured several improvements which will likely be present in the Model Y, including: improved efficiency, heated and ventilated seats, improved cameras, extended range, and an overall enhancement in refinement.

More controversial updates from the updated Model 3 include the removal of turning stalks and and a touchscreen gear selector.

The continued development of the Model Y refresh is a promising sign that Tesla is focused on continual product improvement to ensure they remain at or near the top of the increasingly competitive EV industry.
