Australia's biggest pure battery electric vehicle and clean home energy expo is returning to Sydney Showground from March 7-9, 2025.
The Everything Electric Sydney show aims to demonstrate how Australians can transition to electric vehicles and homes as well as reduce total energy spend while doing so. Discount codes to reduce the advertised prices for tickets are easily found online.
Danny the founder of Zecar and I will be at the show on Friday 7th, please say Hi if you see us. I will be back again on Saturday 8th afternoon to be on stage for the Panel about "How to make long distance electric roadtrips a reality".
The Everything Electric show will feature over 120 test vehicles, including a significant presence from Volkswagen Group brands for the first time.
Volkswagen Group's large presence at the show will be headlined by the Australian unveiling of the Skoda Elroq, marking a crucial moment for the German automotive giant's electric vehicle strategy in Australia.

The launch comes at a critical time for Volkswagen Group, which has watched Tesla dominate the local EV market while more recently Chinese manufacturers like MG, BYD, and Korean brands Hyundai and Kia have also established strong positions in the Australian electric vehicle sector.
The success of the Skoda Elroq will likely depend heavily on its pricing strategy.
Industry observers are watching closely to see if Volkswagen Group has learned from its experience with the Cupra Born, which struggled to gain market traction in Australia over the past two years due to pricing that positioned it above its key competitors.
The Born's sales performance highlighted the price sensitivity of Australian EV buyers, particularly as more affordable Chinese options entered the market.
For Volkswagen Group, the Skoda Elroq's launch at Everything Electric represents an opportunity to reset its position in Australia's increasingly competitive EV market.
The key question remains whether the company will price the Elroq at a level that can generate the volume needed to compete with established players in the market.
Industry analysts suggest that achieving monthly sales in the hundreds would require competitive pricing against established models from Tesla, Chinese and Korean manufacturers.
Skoda has revealed detailed specifications for its upcoming Elroq electric SUV, expected to be on sale in Australia mid-2025.
The new model will compete in the popular mid-size electric SUV segment, targeting rivals such as the BYD Atto 3, Kia EV3, and Hyundai Kona Electric.
The Elroq is built on Volkswagen Group's MEB electric platform, shared with other electric vehicles in the company's portfolio, including the larger Enyaq.
Industry expectations suggest pricing will start around $50,000. I think with a 375km WLTP range the price for the Elroq 50 (base version) really needs to be well below $50,000 driveaway.
Dimensionally, the Elroq is slightly larger than its competitors, with a length of 4488mm and a wheelbase of 2765mm, making it marginally longer and wider than the BYD Atto 3. The vehicle will be offered with three battery options.
Charging capabilities vary, with DC fast charging ranging from 145kW to 175kW depending on the version. All Elroq versions can be charged at home using 11kW AC charging, with full charge times ranging from 5.5 to 8 hours.
