Key Points

  • The Ariya Engage is available at $53,990 driveaway, a saving of close to $7,000 compared to the original price.
  • Nissan is offering 1% finance for existing Nissan owners and a free 2kW home charger on the Ariya until 31 May 2026.
  • Offers must be purchased by 31 May 2026 and delivered by 30 June 2026.

Nissan launched the Ariya in Australia in September 2025. It entered one of the most competitive segments in the EV market: the medium electric SUV. Sales have been slow however, in the first four months of 2026, just 104 Ariyas were sold.

To move stock, Nissan is now offering some of its sharpest discounts and finance deals yet. Here is what is available and how the Ariya compares to the rest of the segment.

How the Ariya is selling

The medium EV SUV segment is the most competitive in Australia. The Ariya launched in September 2025 but has struggled to gain traction. With 104 units sold in the first four months of 2026, it sits at the bottom of the medium SUV segment.

The Tesla Model Y leads the segment with 6,719 units. The BYD Sealion 7 is close behind with 6,248. The Ariya's 104 units puts it at the bottom of the table. Sales did pick up in April (53 units), which is a positive sign, but the gap to the leaders is significant.

Is the Ariya worth buying now?

While the Engage sits at the bottom of the Ariya range, it does have its strengths. The Ariya is a well-built EV with a clean interior, 10-year warranty and supported by Nissan’s expansive distribution and service network. At $53,990 driveaway the Ariya presents a compelling alternative to options from BYD, Zeekr, and Geely which are selling in much higher volumes at competitive prices. If you are already a Nissan owner or want a Japanese-brand EV with a strong warranty, the Ariya with these offers is worth a look.

Ariya Engage 2WD key specs

  • Battery (usable): 63 kWh
  • Power: 160 kW
  • Torque: 300 Nm
  • Range: 385 km (WLTP)
  • 0–100 km/h: 8 seconds
  • Towing capacity: 750 kg (braked)

A 1% finance rate for existing Nissan owners is one of the lowest available on any EV in Australia right now. The free home charger is a nice bonus, though installation is at your own cost.
