MG Motor Australia is offering $2,000 cash back on the MG4 EV Urban, its cheapest and best-selling electric vehicle. The offer applies to vehicles sold and delivered between 11 and 30 September 2026, and drops the entry-level Essence 43 to $29,990 drive away.
The MG4 EV Urban is MG's lowest-priced EV in Australia and has been one of the strongest-selling electric cars in the country since it launched in April 2026. The cash back offer pushes it further below rival cheap EVs, including the BYD Dolphin.
How much you save

Sales so far and how it stacks up
MG has sold more than 2,600 MG4 EV Urbans in Australia since deliveries began in May 2026. The previous-generation MG4 sold more than 13,000 units in total, and the Urban's lower pricing positions it to keep pace with, or beat, that figure.
At $29,990 drive away with the cash back applied, the Essence 43 undercuts the BYD Dolphin, currently the MG4 EV Urban's closest rival on price among mainstream electric hatchbacks.
