What’s Staying the Same
Despite the price hike, there are no changes to the car’s specs. MG confirmed that the MY25 versions are mechanically identical to the MY24s. That means:
- No new features or trim differences
- Same battery options, range, and equipment levels
- Same performance figures
This price change is purely a cost adjustment, not tied to any hardware or software updates.

Why the Increase?
MG hasn’t specified the exact reasons behind the price changes, but it’s worth noting:
- The MG 4’s lowest price point was $30,990 drive-away late last year – meaning the base Excite 51 has climbed $7,000 since then.
- However, it’s still cheaper than its original launch pricing in 2022, when it debuted above $40,000.
- MG has hinted a facelifted MG 4 is on the horizon for early 2026, likely bringing a redesigned interior and some minor exterior updates.
