Leapmotor has given the world its first look at the A10, a small electric SUV that will sit beneath the B10 and C10 in the brand’s growing global lineup. The timing is deliberate. The company will pull the covers off the A10 at the Guangzhou motor show on November 21, 2025, but early images have already kicked off speculation about a new budget contender for Australia.
Two preview shots reveal the A10 in Seaweed Green and Acorn Brown. Beyond the colours, Leapmotor is keeping everything else under wraps which suggests the full reveal will carry a few surprises. Leapmotor Australia has not confirmed a local launch. Even so, the size, segment and timing make the A10 a genuine candidate for a future Australian release.

Aimed At The Same Buyers As BYD Atto 2
The A10 looks unmistakably like a Leapmotor product.
That is both a positive and a limitation.
- The headlights borrow cues from older Leapmotor models rather than the slimmer B10 or C10
- The body is rounded with a tall roofline for better cabin space
- The silhouette is similar to the Smart #1 and BYD Atto 2 which will likely be its direct competitor
A small LiDAR module sits above the windscreen which confirms the A10 will offer advanced driver assistance tech in China. Whether this carries over to export markets is yet to be seen.

Size And Segment
Leapmotor has not released dimensions or drivetrain specifications yet.
That leaves analysts piecing the puzzle together based on existing models.
The B10 sits above it in the range and measures 4515 mm long and 1885 mm wide with a 2735 mm wheelbase. The A10 will sit below that, likely placing it right in Atto 2 territory.
For context, the new BYD Atto 2 arriving in December measures:
- 4310 mm long
- 1830 mm wide
- 2620 mm wheelbase
This suggests the A10 will be a true city friendly SUV that sits between micro EVs like the GWM Ora and small family EVs like the Atto 3.

Powertrains: EV And Possibly EREV
Leapmotor has offered multiple powertrain styles across its lineup. The A10 could follow the same recipe.
Here is what the larger B10 offers which hints at possible A10 configurations:
- 52.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh LFP batteries
- A 160 kW rear mounted electric motor with 240 Nm
- An extended range EREV model that combines a petrol generator with an electric drive system
Leapmotor has not confirmed whether the A10 will receive both EV and EREV options. However, the presence of LiDAR and the brand’s current product strategy suggests the A10 may offer several variants.

Leapmotor is Expanding
Leapmotor is rapidly expanding its product families. The A10 will sit within the A series which covers compact city cars and small SUVs. The brand already has strong B series and C series lineups and is now filling gaps at both ends by developing the A10 and a large flagship SUV known as the D19.
Meanwhile, Leapmotor’s Australian launch has been slower than expected.
Deliveries since the brand’s arrival last year include:
- 64 units in December at launch
- 516 units delivered from January to October this year
By comparison, Geely has delivered 3358 units of its EX5 alone.
The B10’s announcement at an Atto 3 beating price of 38,990 drive away showed Leapmotor is willing to compete aggressively on price. The same strategy will be essential if the A10 lands in local showrooms.
Given the BYD Atto 2 will start from 31,990 before on road costs, the A10 will need a similar or sharper entry price to gain traction.
Zecar’s take
The A10 could be a breakthrough moment for Leapmotor if the brand plays the value card as strongly as it did with the B10. The small SUV segment is heating up fast with the Atto 2, Smart #1 and a wave of budget EVs arriving through 2025. Customers want range, cabin space and advanced tech without paying family SUV money.
Leapmotor has an opportunity here. A compact SUV with LiDAR, multiple battery choices and a price near the low thirties could attract many first time EV buyers.
The only question is timing. Leapmotor needs momentum in Australia and the A10 could be exactly the vehicle to bring it, provided it arrives sooner rather than later.
