Kia will reveal the PV7, a bigger electric van than its PV5, at IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany, on 14 September 2026. The unveiling opens the show's press day, ahead of the public event running through 20 September.
The PV7 sits above the PV5 in Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range and is due on sale in 2027. Kia has not confirmed pricing, full specifications or an Australian launch date.
What Kia Has Confirmed About the PV7
The PV7 will use the same modular E-GMP.S platform as the PV5 and will be offered in passenger and cargo variants, mirroring the PV5 line-up. Kia says the model is designed to deliver "a new mobility experience that caters to diverse customer needs, ranging from professional work environments to daily travel and leisure activities."
Kia first showed the PV7 as a concept in 2024, and the version debuting in September is expected to closely follow that design. The production van is not due in showrooms until 2027, so full specifications, pricing and market-by-market availability have not been released.
How the PV7 Compares to the PV5
Kia has not published final dimensions for the production PV7. The figures below come from the 2024 concept and are not confirmed for the model going on sale, but they show roughly how much bigger the PV7 is expected to be.

Based on the concept figures, the PV7 is around 575 mm longer, 170 mm wider and 205 mm taller than the PV5, with a wheelbase stretched by roughly 395 mm.
Platform and Technology
Alongside the E-GMP.S underpinnings it shares with the PV5, the PV7 will run Hyundai Motor Group's Pleos Connect infotainment and fleet management software. The system is built to help business and fleet operators track and manage vehicles, a feature that matters given how many PV5 vans have gone to delivery and trade fleets.
The PV5's Runaway Success So Far
The PV7's larger size responds to demand Kia is already seeing for the PV5. Kia says the PV5 is the best-selling small electric van in Europe, holding a 37 per cent share of that market through the middle of 2026, and more than 50 per cent of C-segment electric van sales in five countries.
Globally, Kia had sold around 39,000 PV5 vans by the end of August 2026, since the model launched at the end of 2025.
How Many Kia PV5 Have Sold in Australia?
The PV5 Cargo went on sale in Australia in June 2026, priced from $55,990 before on-road costs. Kia Australia set an initial sales target of just 50 units a month, a figure it called deliberately conservative given dealer and fleet interest it described as "overwhelmingly positive."
According to VFACTS new-vehicle registration data tracked by Zecar, the PV5 registered 73 units in June, its first month on sale, and 135 in July, taking confirmed Australian sales to at least 208 units across its first two months. Figures for August had not been released at the time of writing.

Will the PV7 Come to Australia?
Kia has not confirmed whether the PV7 will be sold in Australia. Given early demand for the PV5 locally and Kia's broader PBV push, a local launch is plausible, but this is not yet announced and should be treated as unconfirmed until Kia says otherwise.
