Kia Australia has confirmed pricing for the all-electric PV5 Cargo van. It will arrive in dealerships from late May 2026 at an RRP of $55,990. The PV5 Cargo is the first model from Kia's new PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) range to go on sale in Australia. It is built on the E-GMP.S platform and won the 2026 International Van of the Year (IVOTY) award.

PV5 Cargo Long Range: Key Specs
Australia will receive the PV5 Cargo in one variant only: the Long Range. It has a 71.2 kWh battery, a 120 kW front-wheel drive motor, and a WLTP range of 416 km.
Before going on sale, the PV5 went through Kia Australia's local Ride and Handling Program. The focus was on urban delivery routes and rough country roads.
The PV5 Cargo will be on display at the Melbourne Motor Show from April 10 to 12, 2026.

How It Compares to Electric Van Rivals
At $55,990, the PV5 Cargo is the most affordable electric cargo van in Australia. It undercuts the Farizon Supervan ($71,490) by $15,500. The LDV eDeliver 7 is priced slightly lower at $54,990, but its WLTP range is 318 km, nearly 100 km less than the PV5. The Volkswagen ID.Buzz is not a direct cargo van, but it sits in the same electric van market at $72,990.
The PV5's 416 km range is second only to the ID.Buzz (431 km), which costs $17,000 more. The Farizon Supervan has a larger 83 kWh battery but achieves a shorter 366 km range.

How It Compares to Petrol and Diesel Vans
The PV5 Cargo is the smallest van in this comparison. At 4,695 mm long, it is shorter than all three diesel rivals, and its 1,895 mm width makes it the narrowest. That compact footprint is a genuine advantage in tight urban environments, but it comes at the cost of cargo space and payload.
The LDV Deliver 7 SWB leads on cargo volume at 6.3 m3 and offers a 1,295 kg payload from just $44,726 drive-away, making it the most affordable and most capable option here. The Peugeot Expert SWB matches it closely with 5.3 m3 and a 1,350 kg payload, the highest in this comparison. The VW Caddy SWB is the most compact diesel alternative at 4,500 mm, but its 3.1 m3 cargo volume and 792 kg payload are closer to the PV5 than the larger vans. The Hyundai Staria Load remains the most affordable at $46,740 before on-road costs.
The PV5's 690 kg payload is the lowest here. This is a common trade-off with electric vans due to the additional size and weight of the battery.
The PV5's electric drivetrain means lower fuel and servicing costs over time. For high-mileage urban operators, this will certainly offset the price difference.
