The biggest change is a larger battery that offers a longer driving range. The new battery is 84kWh, up from 77.4kWh, and has a range of 494km (based on the conservative to South Korean testing cycle). Drivetrains will continue to be available in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Kia claims the EV6 can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes using a 350kW charger. However, independent testing has shown that the real-world maximum charging power is closer to 250kW.

The facelifted EV6 GT model has not been announced yet, but the current model develops 430kW of power and 740Nm of torque.

Exterior Changes

The exterior of the EV6 has been refreshed with the following key features:

  • Restyled front fascia with 'Star Map' adaptive LED headlights
  • New 19-inch and 20-inch alloy wheel designs
  • Updated LED tail-light and rear bumper
  • Unique styling for the GT-Line variant

The car also has a new steering wheel with a capacitive sensor to detect the driver's hands, a fingerprint reader to start the car, and augmented reality views for the navigation system.

Additional Features

There are also a number of new driver assistance and smart features, including:

  • Highway Driving Assist 2 with assisted lane changes
  • Updated smartphone-as-a-key function and in-built dashcam
  • Rear-side airbags, totaling 10 airbags
  • Enhanced Remote Smart Park Assist for more accurate parking, including navigating the car into diagonal parking spaces

The 2025 Kia EV6 is on sale now in South Korea and will be in Australian showrooms by the end of the year.
