This comes after a previous price cut that made the Ora the most affordable EV on the market. Other car makers have also cut prices recently.
GWM first launched the Ora electric hatchback in April 2023. Back then, there weren't many other affordable electric hatchbacks available.
The latest price cuts bring the Extended Range and GT trims down from $45,990 and $46,990 respectively. This makes the Ora one of the most heavily discounted EVs in the market.
While the Ora has seen some sales success (478 units so far), it hasn't reached the sales figures of its rivals from BYD and MG.
The Standard Range model comes with a 48 kWh battery offering up to 310 km of WLTP range and charges from 10% to 80% in 41 minutes. The Extended Range has a bigger 63 kWh battery for a WLTP range closer to 420 km.
Both variants have a motor with 126 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque.
The Ora comes with many standard safety features, which helped it achieve a Euro NCAP five-star safety rating. It also includes a 7-year/unlimited km warranty, 5-year roadside assistance, 5-year capped price servicing, and an 8-year battery warranty.
The new prices on the Extended Range and GT trims are expected to last until the end of July.
