Ford Australia announced significant price reductions for its electric vehicles, the Mustang Mach-E SUV and E-Transit van. These moves aim to make these electric cars more affordable for Australian households and businesses.
The Mustang Mach-E sees the biggest price cuts across its lineup. The Select trim starts at $64,990, a decrease of $8,000. The Premium and GT variants follow suit with reductions of $7,000 each, bringing their prices down to $79,990 and $97,990 respectively.
These price reductions still place the Mustang Mach-E at a higher price point than its main competitor, the Tesla Model Y, which also recently received substantial price reductions. The Tesla Model Y range starts from $55,900 to $82,900.

"These price reductions make our electric vehicles even more attractive and accessible to a wider range of Australian customers," said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand.
This move comes alongside Ford's recent partnership with EV charging specialists Evie. This collaboration provides Ford customers with solutions for both at-home EV charging and access to public fast-charging stations.
"Being able to charge conveniently at home and on the go is a major benefit of electric car ownership," said Mr. Birkic. "Our partnership with EVIE makes it easier for our customers to switch to electric vehicles."
