The Chery Omoda E5 has launched with an starting price of $42,990, making it one of the most affordable SUVs available.

The Omoda E5 will be available in Australian showrooms this month, with pricing from $42,990 to $45,990 before on-road costs. It provides 430 km of claimed WLTP driving range and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km.hr in 7.6 seconds. Initially revealed earlier in the year, the Omoda E5 will launch in two grades (BX and EX), which share the same battery and drivetrain. The Omoda E5 will undercut its closest competitor the BYD Atto 3 by between $1,500 for the most comparable Long Range top trim.

With a WLTP-rated range of up to 430km and DC fast charging capability from 30-80% in under 30 minutes. Additionally, it can tow up to 750kg.

The Omoda E5 is a small SUV built on a platform shared with its petrol equivalent the Omoda 5. The Omoda E5 has a length of 4424 mm, width of 1830 mm, height of 1588 mm and a wheelbase of 22610 mm. Its dimensions are very closely matched with the BYD Atto 3.
