XPeng’s updated G6 electric SUV has been caught testing on Sydney roads, signaling the brand’s next major step in expanding its Australian footprint. The refreshed model is expected to arrive in local showrooms in the coming months, following its debut in Thailand and China earlier this year.

Refreshed Design and Cabin Upgrades
The facelifted G6 sports a sharper, more modern appearance. Camouflaged prototypes seen in Sydney reveal several exterior updates that align it with XPeng’s latest design language:
- Redesigned LED taillights and new wheel designs
- A reworked front fascia with a full-width LED light strip
- The XPeng badge relocated from the grille to the bonnet for a cleaner look
Inside, the cabin receives meaningful upgrades:
- A larger 15.6-inch infotainment display (up from 14.9 inches)

Standard Range (RWD):
- Battery capacity increases from 66kWh to 68.5kWh
- Range improves from 435km to 470km (WLTP)
- Power output drops slightly to 185kW/440Nm
Long Range (RWD):
- Battery capacity now 80.8kWh (down from 87.5kWh)
- 525km WLTP range, down from 570km
- Power climbs to 218kW/440Nm
Performance AWD (Europe):
- Dual motors with 358kW/660Nm combined
- 0–100km/h in 4.1 seconds
- 510km WLTP range
Australian specifications are yet to be confirmed, but the G6 lineup is expected to closely mirror the overseas versions.
Local Launch Timing and Pricing
XPeng had initially targeted an Australian release for late 2025, roughly a year after the G6 first arrived locally.
While pricing hasn’t been confirmed for the facelifted version, current models start from $54,800 before on-road costs for the Standard Range and $59,800 for the Long Range.
