GWM has updated its Ora electric hatchback for 2026, introducing a new battery, fresh technology, and a production shift to Thailand. The refreshed lineup is now arriving in Australian showrooms, bringing improved range, smarter features, and subtle design changes. The GWM Ora line-up is now priced as follows:

New Battery, More Range, Extra Tech

The most significant update is a 57.7kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, developed by GWM’s subsidiary SVOLT. It replaces the previous 48kWh (Standard Rang) and 63kWh (Extended Range) options, simplifying the lineup to Lux and GT trims (with a limited Ultra edition).

The LFP chemistry delivers longer lifespan, faster charging, and enables vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality with up to 6kW output, enough to power appliances or tools. A heat pump has also been added, improving cabin efficiency in colder conditions.

Connectivity has been enhanced with the GWM smartphone app, allowing owners to monitor charging, locate the car, and control functions remotely.

Design Tweaks and Trim Adjustments

While the core design remains, the update includes a new Sun Black paint option, fresh badging with a prominent “GWM” wordmark, and a USB-C port alongside existing USB-A outlets. The interior retains its dual 10.25-inch screens, now paired with app integration.

Performance is slightly reduced, with the Ora posting a 0-100km/h time of 9.0 seconds, down from 8.4 seconds, due to higher kerb weight (1650–1670kg).

The Ultra trim will be discontinued after 30 units, offered only in Aurora Green with a black roof and blue/grey interior.
