2026 Geely EX5

Key Points

  • Battery upgraded from 60.2kWh to 68.4kWh, adding up to 45km of WLTP range
  • Prices rise by $1000 across the range, starting at $41,990 before on-road costs
  • Cargo blind and Mode 2 charging cable now standard; Jungle Green is a new colour option

The 2026 Geely EX5 arrives with a larger battery, more range, and a modest price increase. Customer deliveries started on 2 March 2026.

The battery grows from 60.2kWh to 68.4kWh. The Complete variant gains 45km of WLTP range, while the Inspire gains 40km. Both variants use a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry and Geely's Short Blade battery technology, which optimises component layout for cabin space efficiency.

The battery has passed Geely's Devil's Test, covering extreme scenarios including seawater immersion, extreme temperatures, high-frequency underside scraping, 26-tonne overweight rolling, side collision, and open flame exposure.

Powertrain and Performance

The EX5 keeps its single front-mounted 160kW electric motor with 320Nm of torque. The larger battery adds a small weight penalty, which pushes 0-100km/h times from 6.9 seconds (Complete) and 7.1 seconds (Inspire) to 7.4 and 7.6 seconds respectively. Energy consumption rises slightly too.
