Zeekr Australia has delivered its 5,000th Zeekr 7X, reaching the milestone less than eight months after the model began deliveries in October 2025. The company says the result places the 7X on track to become one of the fastest-selling premium electric vehicle new entrants to reach 5,000 deliveries in Australia.

Zeekr has been delivering more than 1,000 units of the 7X per month in recent months. The brand entered Australia as a new premium EV nameplate competing against established European and Asian players in the mid-size electric SUV segment.

How the 7X compares to rivals in 2026

VFACTS and EVC data for the first five months of 2026 (January to May) shows the Zeekr 7X has recorded 3,664 sales, making it the fifth best-selling BEV in Australia year to date. In the premium mid-size SUV segment specifically, it sits second behind the Tesla Model Y.

The 7X's 3,664 units in five months represents a faster pace than the Kia EV5 (2,379) and well ahead of other premium mid-size EV options. The Tesla Model Y remains the dominant nameplate in the segment with 12,324 units, though it has been on sale in Australia since 2019.

The milestone vehicle

The 5,000th delivery is a Zeekr 7X Black Special Edition. The variant features an all-black exterior package including black alloy wheels, gloss black bumpers, black door trims, and black roof rails, combined with black Nappa leather upholstery inside. It is based on the flagship Performance AWD variant and carries the same powertrain: 475kW, 710Nm, 543km WLTP range, and a 3.8-second 0-100km/h time.

The Black Special Edition is priced from $75,900 before on-road costs, $3,000 above the standard Performance variant.

Retail network and outlook

Zeekr's Australian retail network currently spans 18 locations. The company says additional showrooms are set to open in coming months, taking the total to 20 nationwide.

Frank Li, Managing Director of Zeekr Australia, said: "Reaching 5,000 deliveries in such a short period is a significant milestone for Zeekr in Australia. It reflects not only the strength of the 7X as a product, but also the growing confidence Australian customers have in a new premium EV brand that delivers on performance, innovation and overall ownership experience."

Li added: "The momentum we're seeing gives us real confidence for the second half of the year. With sustained demand, expanding retail coverage and a strong product pipeline, we expect to continue scaling deliveries and further establishing Zeekr as a leading player in Australia's premium EV market."

Awards and recognition

The 7X has collected several awards since its Australian launch. It was named Best EV Mid-Size SUV at the 2026 CarExpert Choice Awards. It also won Drive's Best Medium SUV Under $60K, CarsGuide's Best Medium SUV Under $60K (Australia), and the Zeekr 7X Long Range took Gold at Money Magazine's Best of the Best Awards.
