The model is priced from the equivalent of $A57,700 in its home market and brings both range and performance improvements over the current single-motor entry-level sedan.

Longer Range, New Battery Tech
The new Model 3 Long Range (single-motor) uses a 78.4kWh Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) battery supplied by LG Energy. On the WLTP cycle, which is more relevant to Australia, the real-world figure is expected to be closer to 700km, still comfortably ahead of the 629km WLTP range of the current Australian-spec Long Range AWD.
The extended range comes alongside a boost in acceleration. The new variant can sprint from 0-100km/h in around 5.2 seconds, almost a full second quicker than the RWD Standard Range variant sold locally.

Market Availability Uncertain
The variant has already appeared on Tesla’s Chinese online configurator, with first deliveries set for September 2025. That’s only a slight delay compared with the standard RWD variant’s 1–3 week wait time.
However, there’s no confirmation yet on whether it will be offered in right-hand-drive markets such as Australia. Given current sedan demand trends, Tesla may hold off introducing it locally in the short term.

Chinese Incentives – Local Impact?
In China, Tesla is promoting the launch with a suite of incentives, including:
- Five years interest-free finance
- Insurance subsidy (~$A1,700)
- Charging credits
- Enhanced Autopilot transfer for a limited time
Some of these offers mirror the incentives Tesla has been running in Australia to maintain quarterly sales momentum.
