Update: The sale offer has been extended to 31 March 2025

Chery Australia has announced a $6,000 price reduction on its 2024-plated Omoda E5 electric SUV lineup. The entry-level E5 BX model is now priced at $36,990 MSRP, reduced from $42,990 MSRP, positioning it as the most affordable electric SUV currently available in Australia, with pricing below the new BYD Atto 3 Essential.

Entering a 2000 postcode in the Chery website revealed Driveaway NSW Omoda E5 pricing of $40300 for the base BX model and $43,390 for the more premium EX model.

The Omoda E5 combines modern design with practical features, including a spacious interior, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The electric powertrain delivers 150kW of power and 340Nm of torque, enabling 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.6 seconds. With a 61kWh battery, the E5 achieves a WLTP-rated range of 430km and supports DC fast charging up to 80kW, allowing a 20-80% charge in approximately 35 minutes.

Unlike most electric vehicles that come with tire repair kits or run-flat tires, the Omoda E5 stands out by including a full-size spare wheel as standard equipment in Australia. This practical addition eliminates range anxiety related to flat tires, particularly important for drivers traveling in regional areas where tire repair services may be limited.

The comprehensive safety package includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, contributing to its 5-star ANCAP safety rating. Additional features include a 360-degree camera system and wireless phone charging.

The revised pricing is effective January 10th 2025 for a limited time, with vehicles available for test drives at Chery dealerships across Australia. Interested customers can find additional information through the Chery Australia website or local dealerships.

This price adjustment applies to 2024-plated stock and positions the Omoda E5 BX as the new price leader in Australia's electric SUV segment.
