MG Cyberster Nears Launch, National Tour Kicks Off

Comments

The launch of the Australia's first electric roadster, the MG Cyberster, is nearing with a national dealership tour kicking off yesterday. At the launch MG confirmed the indicative price for the Cyberster would be between $100,000 to $130,000, depending on the variant - this is lower than the $100,000 to $150,000 range previously indicated. MG also confirmed that deposits are being taken now for deliveries expected in the third quarter of this year.

MG plans to keep the purchasing process straightforward by offering a single model at launch, which features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system delivering 400kW and 725Nm. It's powered by a 77kWh battery (74kWh usable) and claims a range of 444km according to the WLTP standard. Acceleration will be a blistering 3.2 seconds to reach 100km/hr from a standstill.

The Cyberster's design includes electrically-operated scissor doors, a quick-operating cloth roof, and a triple-screen digital display. It will be available in five colours with options for a black or red roof and two interior colour schemes. MG will showcase the Cyberster at dealerships across Australia in anticipation of its local release.
