JOLT Surprises EV Owners: Unlimited Plan Axed, 50% Price Rise 10kWh plan

EV charging network JOLT has surprised Aussie EV Owners by axing their JOLT PLUS unlimited plan flat rate charging plan and hiking the 10kWh/day plan by 50%. The original free 7kWh/day plan remains unchanged ... for now.

JOLT is a Freemium subscription charging service for Aussie EV drivers who drive more than the average Australian short daily commute and don’t have a garage or parking lot at home to charge their electric car battery.

JOLT Plus was initially launched a year ago and gave paid subscribers access to either a mid range plan of $9.99/month for 10kWh free/day and lower charging rates, a flat monthly fee of $69.99 for unlimited charging or a a discounted rate for professional drivers (without 7kWh free/day).

The original free JOLT membership level remains, where the first 7kWh your car fills up (using CSS2 or CHAdeMO connectors) on their network each day is free, which is enough to drive about 30-50km depending on your car efficiency and driving style.

The second tier JOLT Flex monthly cost increases from $9.99 to $14.99 on billing dates occurring from 18 Oct 2024 onwards.

JOLT Flex includes: Free 10 kWh per day, Save 10% on charging fee after your free allowance, Save 30% on charging fee during off-peak times, Reserve a charger, No lock in contract.

JOLT Unlimited has been axed but the Plus Pro tier for commercial drivers remains, offering: $0 monthly fee and pay as you go discount rates saving 10% on charging fee during peak times, saving 30% on charging fee during off- peak times and reserve a charger.
