Leading Indian EV charging and Energy storage solutions company Exicom has purchased the business and assets of Australian DC Fast Charger manufacturing pioneer Tritium.
In April 2024 Tritium DCFC Limited determined that the Company and three of its Australian subsidiaries, Tritium Pty Ltd, Tritium Holdings Pty Ltd and Tritium Nominee Pty Ltd were insolvent or likely to become insolvent so they appointed KPMG as Voluntary Administrator.
Tritium, founded in 2001, has sold over 13,000 DC Fast Chargers in 47 countries. The company designs and manufactures proprietary hardware and software for advanced, liquid-cooled DC Fast Chargers.
This acquisition significantly expands Exicom's global footprint, adding Tritium's manufacturing facility in Tennessee, USA, and a world-class engineering center in Brisbane, Australia to Exicom's existing presence in Asia.
It enhances Exicom's research and development capabilities and provides opportunities to serve diverse global markets with a complementary product portfolio.
For key buyers of Tritium chargers like Australian EV fast charging network Evie Networks, this news should be welcome relief as it avoids the problems associated with a Tritium liquidation scenario.
Anant Nahata, CEO of Exicom, stated that this acquisition aligns with Exicom's vision of enabling emission-free mobility. He emphasized the complementary nature of Exicom and Tritium's sales and product footprints, expressing enthusiasm for collaborating with Tritium's stakeholders to provide improved charging experiences globally.
