Key Points
- GAC's fourth Australian model is the all-electric AION UT compact hatchback
- Features Milan-inspired design with world-first eyebrow-style headlamps
- Available from Q2 2026 with competitive interior space from 2,750mm wheelbase
GAC Australia has confirmed its fourth model for the local market. The AION UT is an all-electric compact hatchback designed for city driving.
The AION UT joins the AION V electric SUV, M8 PHEV, and EMZOOM in GAC's Australian lineup. It will be the second all-electric model from the brand's AION range.

Design and Style
The AION UT was designed at GAC's Milan Design Centre. The styling takes inspiration from Europe's fashion capital.
The car features a sleek fastback design with a two-tone floating roof. Playful pixel graphics add to its modern character. The front end has the world's first eyebrow-style headlamps, giving the car a distinctive look.

Space and Practicality
Despite its compact size, the AION UT offers good interior space. This comes from its 2,750mm wheelbase, which is competitive in its segment.

GAC's Australian Strategy
Kevin Shu, President of GAC Australia, outlined the brand's local plans. GAC will bring more than 10 models to Australia over the next five years under its 'In Australia, For Australia' strategy.
The AION UT shows the strength of GAC's product range. It combines design with technology that works for daily use. The model is aimed at buyers looking for a smart city car to navigate Australian urban areas.
Since launching in November, GAC's first three models have started to challenge expectations in the Australian market. The brand aims to deliver quality and technology at accessible prices.
Availability and Pricing
The GAC AION UT will arrive in Australia during Q2 2026. This means buyers can expect the car between April and June next year.
GAC will announce pricing and full specifications closer to the launch date. The brand has positioned its other models competitively in the market, so the AION UT should follow a similar approach.
