DENZA Z9GT Confirmed for Australia: 1,036km Range, 9-Minute Charge and 2.7s 0 to 100km/h
Key Points
- DENZA Z9GT arrives in Australia in Q3 2026 with an estimated 850kW output and a 0-100km/h time of 2.7 seconds.
- It uses BYD Blade Battery 2.0 with FLASH ultra-fast charging. The battery charges from 10% to 97% in approximately 9 minutes using a 1,500kW DC charger.
- CLTC-rated range is 1,036km. Australian pricing has not been confirmed, but China pricing starts from around 270,000 yuan (approx. AU$60,000 to AU$65,000 at current exchange rates).
DENZA has confirmed the Z9GT will join its Australian lineup. The car made its local debut at the 2026 Melbourne Motor Show and is set for deliveries in Q3 2026.
The Z9GT is a large electric grand tourer built on DENZA's new e3 platform. It is the first car sold in Australia with BYD Blade Battery 2.0 technology and FLASH ultra-fast charging.
Performance
The Z9GT uses three electric motors: one at the front and two at the rear. Combined system output is estimated at around 850kW (over 1,130hp). It sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 2.7 seconds.
The three-motor setup also enables precise torque control at each wheel. This improves handling and allows tight-radius parking manoeuvres not possible in conventional cars.

DENZA Z9GT figures are estimated based on overseas specifications. Final Australian specs are subject to ADR testing and verification. Porsche and Audi figures are based on current Australian pricing and published specifications.
[Chart recommendation: A bar chart comparing 0-100km/h times and power output across the three vehicles would work well here.]
Range and Charging
In CLTC testing, the Z9GT achieves a range of 1,036km. CLTC is a Chinese test standard and tends to return higher figures than real-world driving. Expect the WLTP equivalent range to be about 800km.
Charging is handled by BYD's FLASH system. With a peak 1,500kW DC charger, the battery can go from 10% to 97% in approximately 9 minutes. DENZA plans to have FLASH charging sites at selected dealers in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide by Q4 2026.

What Could It Cost in Australia?
DENZA has not announced Australian pricing. Local specs and pricing will be confirmed closer to the Q3 on-sale date.
In China, the Z9GT is priced between 269,800 yuan and 369,800 yuan, roughly AU$60,000 to AU$85,000 at current exchange rates. However, Australian pricing will be significantly higher once you factor in import costs, compliance, local taxes and the premium positioning of the brand. Based on typical premiums for the Australian market, expect the DENZA Z9GT price in Australia to between $80,000 to $130,000.
For context, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S starts from around AU$390,000 in Australia, and the Audi RS e-tron GT Performance from around AU$310,000.
Pricing Context
Model | China Price (approx.) | Europe/Overseas Price (approx.) | Australia Price (approx.) |
DENZA Z9GT (BEV) | 269,800–369,800 yuan (~AU$60k–85k) | TBC (est. EUR 80,000+) | TBC (est. AU$180k–250k) |
Porsche Taycan Turbo S | N/A | From ~EUR 185,000 | From ~AU$390,000 |
Audi RS e-tron GT Performance | N/A | From ~EUR 150,000 | From ~AU$310,000 |
Note: China prices are for the domestic market and do not reflect what Australians will pay. All Australian estimates are speculative until DENZA confirms local pricing.
Design and Interior
The Z9GT was designed under Wolfgang Egger, formerly of Alfa Romeo and Audi. The exterior follows a fastback grand tourer shape, with a design language DENZA calls "Elegance in Motion".
Inside, the cabin features Nappa leather seats with massage, ventilation and extended leg rests. There is a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, Devialet premium audio, ambient lighting with 128 colour options and a built-in refrigerator.

Suspension and Safety
The Z9GT is the first vehicle to feature DiSus-A air suspension. This works with the e3 platform to keep the car stable and comfortable at all times.
One notable feature is blowout management. If a tyre fails at highway speed, the onboard software responds in milliseconds, adjusting power delivery, steering and braking simultaneously to help keep the car under control. This is particularly relevant for Australian long-distance driving.
What DENZA Says
DENZA Australia Chief Operating Officer Mark Harland said: "The DENZA Z9GT proves that electrification can deliver not just efficiency, but exhilarating performance, extraordinary safety and genuine long-distance usability. Australia is a market that demands performance without compromise, and the Z9GT has been engineered to meet or exceed expectations."
