DEEPAL Australia is implementing key enhancements to its S07 electric vehicle model in response to customer feedback, just two months after launching in the Australian market.

Also announced today was the imminent arrival to Australia of the new all electric DEEPAL S05 SUV and E07 SUV/Ute Combo.

Working with manufacturing partner CHANGAN Automobile, the company is rolling out updates designed to improve performance while maintaining the vehicle's ANCAP 5-star safety rating.

Cormac Cafolla, General Manager of DEEPAL Australia, emphasized the importance of their partnership with CHANGAN, stating:

"In just two months, our OEM partner has shown a strong commitment to Australian drivers by responding quickly and thoughtfully to customer feedback. With CHANGAN Automobile's scale and expertise, we have the ability to move fast and address the needs of Australian consumers."

Among the most significant changes is an extension of service intervals from 10,000 km to 20,000 km, while maintaining the 12-month time-based interval.

The previously required initial 5,000 km service has been eliminated. According to DEEPAL, these adjustments were made after careful analysis to ensure vehicle reliability and performance standards remain high.

The company is also refining its Driver Monitoring System, with adjustments to alert warnings including audible, visual, and physical notifications to better align with Australian drivers' expectations.

These updates will be deployed OTA across all vehicles once local testing is complete.

Further improvements focus on the Cruise Control system, particularly addressing concerns about speed reduction behavior when approaching bends in the road.

DEEPAL's engineering team will conduct local test drives on Australian roads to refine these features.

The company plans to uncouple the speed reduction functions of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) systems, allowing for smoother and more consistent speed adjustments, with additional IACC refinements to follow after testing.

DEEPAL Australia describes these updates as part of their ongoing commitment to creating a driving experience specifically tailored to Australian conditions and driver preferences, emphasizing their strategy of continuous improvement based on customer feedback.

These changes to the warranty and software address many of the points made in my one week test drive review of the Deepal S07 for Zecar.
