Local utility ActewAGL has officially launched what it’s calling the Canberra's largest mixed-use EV charging hub, located right next to Turner Parklands. Designed for compatibility and convenience, the site features a mix of CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2 plugs, covering almost every EV on the road.
Bidirectional (V2H and V2G) EV Chargers Guide (2025)

Built for Every Driver
The new Turner hub includes:
- 3 CCS plugs (DC fast charging)
- 1 CHAdeMO plug (popular with older EVs like the Nissan Leaf)
- 4 Type 2 sockets (AC charging for most EVs)
The hub was designed to be accessible for a wide rang of customers. “We’ve built this hub to suit the real-world needs of EV drivers in our region,” said ActewAGL Retail GM Rachael Turner, calling the launch a “major step forward” in making charging simple, reliable and convenient.

Backed by the ACT Government
The project was supported by the ACT Government’s Public EV Charging Infrastructure Fund, a scheme aimed at expanding the region’s charging network. It’s all part of the territory’s push toward 180 public chargers by the end of 2025.
With the new site, ActewAGL’s network now spans:
- 40 charging points
- 12 locations across Canberra
And that footprint is still growing.

The ACT leads the nation in both new EV sales (regularly over 20%) and EV market share, with 3.26% of all registered vehicles now electric. That means more drivers than ever need a charging solution they can count on.
