500kW Blueberry DC Chargers Coming to 30 NSW Shell Service Stations

Comments

EV-NRG has announced an agreement to supply Viva Energy Australia with quite a lot of their i-charging blueberry CLUSTER 500kW DC Ultra-Fast Chargers.

Viva Energy will install the blueberry chargers at 30 Shell Reddy Express and Shell OTR sites in NSW thanks to co-funding from the NSW government Dec 2023 Round 2 EV Fast Charging grants.

This could explain the two very full 40 foot shipping containers full of i-charging blueberry EV chargers that EV-NRG received a few months months ago.

The blueberry CLUSTER 500kW will be configured to provide four charging points.

Christian Hewitt, Director & Chief Sales Officer at EV-NRGsaid that the design of the blueberry CLUSTER 500kW enables completely dynamic power sharing, enabling charge point operators to have a higher throughput of vehicles and giving drivers the best possible charging speeds.

The blueberry CLUSTER units are scalable between 100kW and 900kW and 2-4 charging cables.

Additional power can be added in 50kW modular increments up to 900kW.

blueberry chargers feature distinctive very large colour touch screens which I expect are used for advertising and promotions. Hopefully these don't get smashed by vandals.

The Cluster 500 supports an optional payment gateway if required by the purchaser.

Sandra Lau, Viva Energy’s Head of Hydrogen & EVs commented recently at the Mobility Live event:

"Viva Energy Australia’s acquisitions of Coles Express -- now Reddy Express - and OTR is all about bringing together the best onsite convenience experience for customers and EV charging is a key part of that".
"It is clear to us that the success of public EV charging needs to be supported by strong onsite convenience offer so our customers can get something to eat or drink while their car is charging."

The OTR brand of service stations are well known in South Australia for their co-located services and eateries.

Viva Energy claims that they will offer an "omnichannel customer experience, from seamless charging solutions to integrated retail services".
