Volvo has opened orders for the 2027 EX60 in Australia, with the mid-size electric SUV priced from $86,990 before on-road costs. Two variants are available at launch: the rear-wheel-drive P6 Ultra and the all-wheel-drive P10 Ultra at $101,990 before on-roads. Deliveries are expected in the final quarter of 2026.
The EX60 is the electric counterpart to the XC60, Volvo's best-selling model of all time. It is built in Sweden, not China, and Volvo has flagged that initial supply may be "somewhat limited."
Pricing and variants
At launch, the EX60 undercuts both the BMW iX3 50 xDrive ($101,900 before on-roads) and the Audi Q6 e-tron ($99,900 before on-roads) at the entry level.

EX60 P6 RWD Ultra | $86,990 |
EX60 P10 AWD Ultra | $101,990 |
Additional variants are under evaluation for Australia but have not been confirmed. These include a cheaper entry-level grade (possibly badged Plus or Core) that could come in under $80,000, a high-performance P12 variant with 500kW, 790Nm, and up to 810km of claimed WLTP range priced in the vicinity of $120,000 before on-roads, and a Cross Country variant with raised ride height and light off-road styling. These are expected in 2027, though Volvo has not confirmed timing or pricing for Australia.

Construction and technology
The EX60 introduces two manufacturing firsts for Volvo. The rear floor and subframe use a single mega-cast aluminium piece, replacing up to 100 individually cast components. The battery also uses cell-to-body construction, where the cells form part of the vehicle's structure, improving rigidity and lowering the floor.
The 800-volt platform supports DC fast charging at up to 320kW on the P6 and 370kW on the P10 and P12. The first batch of EX60s in Europe are not equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but Volvo has confirmed both will be added via an over-the-air update before Australian deliveries begin.

Features and equipment
Both the P6 and P10 Ultra grades are well-equipped at launch. Standard features across both include a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen with built-in Google Gemini AI and digital radio, an 11.4-inch driver's display, a 28-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos, an electrochromatic glass sunroof (switches from clear to opaque), tri-zone climate control with heat pump, heated and ventilated front seats with heated rear outboard seats, power-adjustable front seats with four-way lumbar, power-folding and reclining rear seats, 21-inch alloy wheels, wireless phone charger and four USB-C ports, power tailgate, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control with lane-centring (Pilot Assist), blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic parking, driver monitoring system, and over-the-air updates.
The P6 comes with grey Nordico synthetic leather-look upholstery. The P10 upgrades to nappa leather. Both grades offer Cardamom or Dawn trim as no-cost colour options. Onyx Black is the standard paint colour, with seven additional colours available at no extra cost.

Cross Country variant
A Cross Country version of the EX60 was shown at a media preview in Spain. It features a 19mm raised ride height, larger-diameter tyres, front and rear skid plates, wheel-arch extensions, and a dark finish on the front fascia and tailgate. The suspension has been retuned for a softer feel over rough terrain.
The Cross Country on display was fitted with 21-inch wheels and combination fabric and synthetic leather-look upholstery. It appeared to share the active suspension with continuously-controlled dampers from the P10.
Volvo has not confirmed which powertrain the Cross Country will use, nor whether it will come to Australia. If the EX30 Cross Country is a guide, it could carry a premium of around $2,000 over the equivalent P10 or P12 variant.
