Key Points

  • Tesla Model Y size for BYD Atto 3 money
  • Two variants: Style ($45,888 plus ORC) and Design ($49,888 plus ORC)

The 2025 Leapmotor C10 has dramatically lowered the price point for medium-sized electric SUVs, presenting a more affordable option that is $10,000 lower than competitors like the Tesla Model Y and the Kia EV5. The Leapmotor's C10 opens with the Style variant at $45,888 plus on-road costs followed by the Design variant priced at $49,888.

Even when including on-road costs, the 2025 Leapmotor C10 Style significantly undercuts the base Model Y's price tag of $55,900 (plus on-road costs) and the newly introduced Kia EV5, which is available at $56,770 drive-away for the Air Standard Range.

The C10 even offers a more attractive price pointm while also being larger, than the top specs BYD Atto 3 compact SUV, which is $47,499 plus on-road costs for the Extended Range variant.

With the brand being a relative newcomer, established only in 2015 and with a minimal presence in Australia, Leapmotor will back their C10 with a strong seven-year unlimited kilometer warranty and an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty.

Stellantis, which holds brands such as Jeep, Peugeot, and RAM, owns a majority 51 percent in a joint venture with Leapmotor for its distribution outside China. To mark the C10's arrival in Australia, early customers who take delivery by March 31, 2025, will enjoy a year of complimentary charging across the Chargefox network.

The Leapmotor C10's Style and Design models share the same 160kW/320Nm electric motor, 69.9kWh battery pack, and a WLTP range of 420km but differ in their equipment offerings.

The Style comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, dusk-sensing LED headlights, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, navigation, a 10.25-inch digital dashboard, automatic climate control, adjustable front seats, a wireless phone charger, panoramic roof, 12-speaker audio system, 360-degree camera, and modern door handles.

Upgrading to the Design version adds 20-inch alloys, an LED tail-light bar showcasing an animated pattern, premium silicone leather seating, temperature-controlled front seats, heated steering wheel, powered tailgate, air quality monitoring, ambient lighting with multiple colors, and privacy glass for the rear.

An extra $990 will be the cost for premium paint for both models. However, it is worth noting that features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto won't be available on the C10 until the release of an updated model next year and the existing models won't receive these features retroactively.
